The Taliban insurgents assaulted outposts in Zabul, Logar and Ghor provinces, but Afghan forces repulsed the attack and inflicted heavy casualties on the Taliban, the statement added.
The Taliban’s attacks were thwarted, leaving 22 of the militants killed and another 15 wounded, according to the statement.
The Afghan Ministry of Defense, meanwhile, announced the death of 21 Taliban fighters after their assault was pushed back by Afghan forces in the eastern Khost province.
According to a MoD’s statement, the clashes left nine others of the militants wounded.
The Taliban group, however, are yet to comment.
