The coronavirus (COVID-19) infection toll hit at least 8,056,441, with 436,293 deaths worldwide, mostly in United States, Brazil and Russia respectively, according to a tally by Reuters.
The United States is still the coronavirus hotspot in the world, with a total of 2,122,766 infections and 116,107 total deaths in the country.
Total cases of coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) in Brazil, the second badly-affected country behind U.S., hit 888,271, with 43,959 related deaths.
As of today, more than 537,210 confirmed COVID-19 cases have been reported in Russia, with a total of 7,091 deaths. This pushed the country to be the third worst-affected country from the novel coronavirus.
Following Russia, India with a total of 343,091 coronavirus cases, United Kingdom with 296,857 cases, Spain with 261,963 total number of coronavirus cases, Italy with 237,290 and Peru with 232,992 total cases, have the highest number of infections in the world.
The novel coronavirus, officially known as COVID-19, which first emerged in China’s central city of Wuhan has now spread to almost everywhere and has killed thousands of people, mostly in the United States, Brazil and UK.
