In a meeting with SCO ambassadors, Hanif Atmar Acting Foreign Minister said that the Taliban failed to adhere to their commitment following prisoner’s release.
In a statement released by the MOFA on Friday, the Acting Foreign Minister met with the Ambassadors of Turkmenistan, Iran, China, India, and the Deputy Ambassador of the Russian Federation.
According to the statement, Atmar briefed the Ambassadors over developments in the peace process including the beginning of direct negotiations.
Hanif Atmar also discussed the unacceptable increased levels of violence carried out by the Taliban, the de-conflicting mechanism, finalization of rules and procedures, and the delays on moving to the main agenda.
He stressed on formation of deconflicting mechanism as the violence increases, both parties have agreed upon the mechanism.
The statement adds, the government seeks crucial engagement of the Organization of Islamic Conference to religiously advice both parties on peace process.
Ambassadors of SCO countries have declared their countries full support in the Afghan peace process, they also praised the past 19 years of Afghan achievements and focused on its preservation, statement reads.
