A warehouse manager of the Ministry of Public Health solicited and received some USD80,000 from a private company selling medical protective gear to doctors and the health ministry itself, according to a statement by the Afghan Attorney General’s Office (AGO).

The employee had demanded the bribe for processing documents of a company which would deliver protective kits to the ministry, a statement by AGO read.

There were also reports of ventilators smuggled to Pakistan that the ministry of health issued a denial for the reports.
