The visit comes days after chairman of peace council Dr. Abdullah Abdullah held meetings with the Pakistani senior officials on a three-day visit to the neighboring country.

The chairperson of the High Council for National Reconciliation met with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani this morning, October 4, briefing the President on his recent visit to Pakistan, said Sediq Sediqqi, the presidential spokesman.

”He briefed the President on his recent visit to Pakistan and talked about the peace process and the next steps,” he continued.

Government’s top peace negotiator Abdullah Abdullah is expected to visit India on October 6, as part of the efforts to seek region’s support for the negotiations between the Afghan government and the Taliban, Indian media quoted sources familiar with matter on Saturday.
